Curt Towed Vehicles Fuse Bypass Switch Review- Video
Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be checking out the Curt fuse bypass switch. A setup like this is primarily gonna be used for those of you that are wanting to flat tow your vehicle and some vehicles will require you to pull a fuse whenever you flat tow it. You can find that information in your owner's manual. Reason being, you know, the factory wants something to not have power while it's being towed so no damage or anything like that occurs. Roadmaster Universal Diode Wiring Kit Installation - 2019 GMC Sierra 2500- Video
Hi there, GMC owners. Today, on your 2019 GMC Sierra 2500HD, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's diode wiring kit. Roadmaster's diode wiring kit is gonna take all the lighting signals on our motorhome and transfer them to the lights here at the back of the vehicle. I've got the hazard lights turned on and you should be able to see those at the motorhome as well as here at the vehicle, mimicking one another because it's just transferring those signals right to here. The diode wiring will ensure that the signals are transferred from there. You'll get all the wiring necessary to bring them from a connector at the front to the lights here at the back. more

Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2016 Ford F-150- Video
Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the Hopkins Plug and Play Towed Vehicle Wiring Kit on a 2016 Ford F-150. Now, diode wiring is a really nice thing to have if you plan on flat towing quite often, and that's because a lot of other vehicles that you see flat towed, you're gonna see some magnetic lights that are stuck here, and a lot of times you can get wireless ones, but sometimes you have to run a cable all the way to the RV, and diode wiring is just nice, because when you plug in your umbilical, not only can you send 12 volt power through there to a charge line if you want to, but also you're gonna mimic all the turn signals, running lights, and brake lights on the towed vehicle. Now this kit is particularly nice, because this is plug and play. Now most diode wiring that I've seen throughout all the flat tow installations, you're chopping into the factory taillight wiring and splicing in spade connectors on a diode, not this one. This one plugs into the tow package on this F-150, making it super easy to just run your wire up to the front, and you're pretty much ready to go. Obviously, the best part, or the reason you would install diode wiring is because your vehicle pretty much becomes a trailer when you're flat towing it. more

So the wiring harness is just one of the many things that we need in order to successfully flat tow our F-150 here. In addition to this, we're gonna need a base plate kit, a tow bar, safety cables, and a supplemental braking system. Now what our wiring is gonna do is, simply put, it's gonna transfer these signals from our motor home to our vehicle here so we can let other motorists out in the road know what signals are gonna be making. Keep in mind this is a legal requirement in every state because a lot of the times, your vehicles are actually gonna block the taillights on your motor home. So we need a safe way to communicate those signals to other motorists allowing us to arrive to our destinations safe and sound. more

And the main reason for installing diodes here at the back, it'll allow all your motor home signals to come from your motor home's seven-way connector and illuminate this light. But if you we're to just wire it up without diodes, it would not only illuminate the light, but it would also backfeed on your circuitry and potentially damage components on the vehicle. The diodes act is a one-way check file for electricity that will let it go from our motor home to our light, but it will not let it go back down our factory wiring and effect anything on our vehicle. Hi there, Equinox owners. Today, on your 2019 Chevrolet Equinox, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's smart diodes for incandescent bulbs. Roadmaster's smart diodes for incandescent bulbs will allow you to tap into the wiring on your existing lighting circuits on your vehicle and be able to add a couple of additional circuits to it that you can run up to a connector at the front of the vehicle and plug into your motor home. This is really nice for flat tow setups because with a flat tow, you have to have your lights working here at the back to remain DOT-compliant in all states. Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring Kit Installation - 2011 Jeep Patriot- Video
Hi there, Jeep owners, today in your 2011 Jeep Patriot, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's diode wiring kit. All the components are gonna be hidden behind your taillight assembly, so you're really not gonna notice any modifications to the vehicle. They tap directly into the factory lighting circuits and they act as a one-way check valve that only lets current flow one direction to the bulbs, but it can't back feed. And this allows us to add the additional wiring for our motor home so that when we plug into our motor home, we can send all the lighting signals from our motor home to the same factory lights here on our vehicle, so that way, these will also illuminate, letting people know our intentions when we're going down the road. And when those signals come up the wires from our motor home, it'll light the bulb, but the diode prevents it from going back down the factory wiring, causing any damage to the vehicle. This is my personal favorite way to get lighting set up on your flat tow set up 'cause some of the other options, well, for example, like the Blue Ox or the Demco diodes, their diodes just don't seem to be as robust as the Roadmaster ones, these ones have a very large heat sink on them to dissipate heat and they just seem to work very well. more

Installation -Roadmaster Fuse Bypass Switch - 2020 Chevrolet Sonic- Video
Hi there Chevy owners. Today in our 2020 Chevy Sonic, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's fuse bypass kits. We're gonna be using a double fuse harness as well as two single harnesses to disconnect all the fuses required on our Sonic today. These fuse bypass kits will allow you to quickly remove the fuses from your vehicle with a simple press of a button. Oftentimes your vehicles require fuses to be pulled when placed into flat-tow mode to prevent the battery from draining and to ensure it's in a safe state where you can pull it without causing any damage to the vehicle. To prevent you from having to open the hood and pull out a fuse and some of the fuses are pretty small, you need a little like a pair of needle-nose pliers or a fuse puller to be able to get 'em out. more

Demco 4-Diode Universal Towed Vehicle Wiring Kit Installation - 2021 Ford Ranger- Video
Hello neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Demco Diode Wiring on a 2021 Ford Ranger. Now when it comes to flat towing a vehicle, you need to make sure that you have your lights on the towed vehicle to let the people behind you know and many times you'll see magnetic lights or ones that you just kind of stick on. Well, the great part about diode wiring is, once you have it installed in your factory wires here, you're still gonna retain all your normal light functions but it's actually gonna mimic it based off the RV and that's done via the umbilical. So once the diodes are installed all you have to do is hook up the included umbilical here from our seven to six pole and that's gonna transmit all of our turning, running lights as well as our brake lights to keep you safe and legal. Now there's gonna be five main components when you are flat towing a vehicle and the first one we'll start on the vehicle side is gonna be the base plate. more

Hey everyone, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over the Roadmaster Diode Wiring Kit here on a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. So a diode wiring kit is just gonna be one of the many things that we need in order to successfully flat tow our Jeep here. Now, what this does is, this is gonna transfer these signals from the motor home to our Jeep. So we can let other motorists out on the road know what signals we're gonna be making, allowing us to arrive to our destination, safe and sound. Now, this is not only a safety requirement, it's also a legal requirement in nearly every state when you're flat towing your vehicle. So it does require that we splice into the factory taillight circuit but it's only two wires on either side. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Roadmaster Diode Wiring Kit on a 2022 Jeep Cherokee. Now this is available in a bunch of different options based on your needs. So if your tow bar doesn't have an umbilical, you can actually pick it up with a coiled cable or a straight cable. Also, you can pick up the wiring bundle without any connectors, or some of them actually have the 4 pole on the front. It's kind of up to you, what you wanna choose. Now there's five main components that are required when flat towing a vehicle and the first one we'll start off with is the base plate and that's gonna actually attach to the vehicle via the bumper mounts or the chassis and it's gonna be a secure mount for us to be able to attach our tow bar and the tow bar is gonna be the second component and that's gonna make the connection point between your base plate and the actual towing of the RV. more

Hi there, Chevy owners Today in your 2012 Chevy Silverado, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's diode wiring kit. Now, when you flat tow to your vehicle, there are five main components that you're gonna need when doing so. You'll need your base plate, which is the connection point for your tow bar on your vehicle. You'll need your tow bar, which is the component that connects your vehicle to your motor home. Your safety cables, which is a supplemental connection in addition to your tow bar. You'll need your diode wiring, which takes all the lighting signals from your motor home and transfers to the lights at the back of your vehicle, so people know your intentions when going down the road and your supplemental breaking system, which will apply the brakes in your vehicle when you hit them in your motor home to help you come to a safe stop. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look in installing the Roadmaster Smart Diode Wiring Kit for towed vehicles on a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Now, when you're setting a vehicle up for flat towing, there's gonna be five required components enabled to do this. And the first one being the base plate. So that's where we can actually make that connection point between the vehicle and the tow bar. The tow bar is gonna be the connection point between that base plate and the actual RV's hitch. Now, you'll also have your supplemental braking system. more
